3G has been launched in our country for some time. Looking back, it should have started in the 2008 Olympics. At that time, the first thing to start was the TD network operated by China Mobile. Today, it has been almost 2 years. But I found that 3G still has a long way to go in China. Today there are still people using mobile 3G who want to make 3G video calls with China Unicom. It took me a while to explain to them that in the 3G era Different formats are not interoperable.
Let’s talk about the current situation of 3G in China. First of all, there are three 3G operators in China: China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom. The 3G standards they operate respectively are: TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, and CDMA2000 (one-to-one correspondence).
Let me explain these three systems. The mobile TD system is officially said to be China's independent intellectual property rights. From my personal understanding, I found that this is just a pretext. TD was originally researched by a laboratory in the United States. Time, which I felt was meaningless, was sold to China Datang Telecom for subsequent development. The Chinese just treated it as a treasure and asked the country for money for research under the banner of independence. However, if you really go abroad to build TD networks for other countries in the future, you can still earn a lot of foreign exchange back.
The WCDMA operated by China Unicom is currently the most mature 3G standard in the world. Many European countries with commercial 3G use this standard. Currently, 80% of commercial 3G networks are WCDMA. It is a pity, it is a pity that such a good standard is As we all know, China Unicom is a loser! No matter how good you give him, he can't get enough of it! I think the most stupid thing is China Unicom's minimum tariff policy of 96 for high-end users. How many of those who really have nothing to do with 3G are rich people? The rich are busy counting their money to make money for socializing. Who will use your rubbish China Unicom? In the 2G era, it was shameless to use China Unicom. Now that 3G has arrived, Chang Xiaobing may also want to be awesome, but he is too stupid!
CDMA2000 (the same network as EVDO) operated by China Telecom is still used by operators in Asia. However, the inherent defects of CDMA2000 cannot be solved. The Internet is OK, but video calls are not expected. It is a technical problem! But it is said that Tianyi has the largest number of users. I guess those users who pay two to three hundred yuan for a free Tianyi mobile phone are also included. Is that Tianyi? Is that 3G? Isn’t that still the CDMA1X that China Unicom is tired of? This is so disgusting about telecommunications!
Currently, these 3 companies (Telecom cannot make video calls to itself for the time being, and the future is unpredictable) are unable to make video calls to each other, and they can only make calls between themselves. If we talk about the tariff threshold, China Telecom and China Mobile are doing well. I also hate China Unicom, but I can’t help it. I like WCDMA. I’m not using China Unicom, but the WCDMA mature 3G network!
