As the saying goes, if you often walk along the river, how can your shoes not get wet? This sentence also applies to the VPS world: If you spend money to buy it, how can you not get scammed? Good VPS has indeed encountered some sad experiences in the process of spending money all year round. I believe that everyone feels that they have encountered many. However, judging from some of the comments on the blog, a lot of them are not cheating by the host company, and some are subjective. awareness, or poor communication. As the end of the year approaches, I’m starting to make a summary, and suddenly I have the idea of making a blacklist series to record bizarre encounters, which can also serve as a wake-up call. Just like my ranking of my favorite host providers in 2012, I am very careful not to involve Chinese people in this series. I will not make any comments if I see Chinese characters. Please forgive me, readers.

write in front

This series may be controversial, and there may not be a second, third, or Nth one for a long time, but I made a special statement before:
1. The blog only shares information, even if I add it to the blacklist series, However, this will definitely not affect my ability to share promotional information about it with readers when I see it in the future. This is not a contradiction. The world is diverse, and no one has the right to force others to agree with their own views. I often see comments on blogs that are full of trolls, and some even start trolling me when I really haven’t had time to review the comments. For example: If you don’t approve my comments, you are complicit in this garbage. It’s a virtue... And so on. Actually, I want to ask: What reason do you have for everyone to agree with your point of view? This is just like in a certain forum, if you have different opinions, you are a vest and an alien. I used to be angry, but now I am calmer.
2. Readers do not need to add materials to this series for the same reason as the first one above.
3. Which ones are not cheating? For example: I bought VR.ORG in Hong Kong and found out that the IP is from the United States. This is not a scam, but I just don’t have enough common sense; for example, the VPS was stopped due to violations (including violation of local laws, fraud, SPAM, violation of the host provider’s terms, etc.) , or delete it. This is not a scam by the hosting provider, but by yourself. Buying an American VPS and uploading and downloading locally for only a few K/s is not a scam, because the bandwidth of others is not guaranteed to reach your home in China. , a cheating *** letter, a *** message or something further... you didn't read the TOS written by someone else, this is not cheating, you can only blame yourself for being blind, etc.
Cheating
Well, to start today’s topic, the hosting provider I want to blacklist today is: ServerHub
ServerHub is a company established in 2001 The old American host provider, originally named Infinitie, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eonix. It provides products including OpenVZ and XEN architecture. The data center is in the SS computer room in Phoenix, and the domestic speed is good. His representative products include a free WHM/CP authorized VPS with a monthly payment of only $14.95, which provides up to 8 IPv4 addresses, 1GB memory, 512MB vSWAP, 100GB hard drive and 33TB monthly traffic! Very powerful.
Everyone knows that a good VPS is cheap, so I bought it a long time ago and put it aside, just for show (multiple IPs, with CP)! I recently wanted to test CSF on WHM, but encountered a small tragedy, so I blacklisted it. The main problems include the following aspects:
1. Seriously oversold. After reinstalling the system several times recently, I found that the VPS was oversold enough to affect normal use. It often took half an hour after restarting to use 200MB of memory (it would be stuck at 40M and it would not be able to use it). ), it is impossible for a Linux with WHM/CP installed not to occupy more than 200MB of memory. This is one of the tragedies;
2. Low technical capabilities and violent charges. In fact, the biggest problem lies in technical issues. During the process of Test iptables after installing CSF, I found that the hen iptables did not load the ipt_recent and xt_connlimit modules for the chicks, so I asked TK to solve it. After the reply that it was solved, I found that the problem was fundamental. There is no solution, and the number of iptables rules is directly limited to 400. It turns out that CSF can still be used, but some rules do not take effect. Now it is completely over. CSF cannot be started directly because the limit of the number of rules is exceeded. I replied to TK again to ask for it, and it was closed; I opened a new TK to ask for it, and when I received the reply, I asked CSF and WHM to solve the problem myself; I asked for it again, and I got the following response:

As you may be aware, your support level in which you have chosen is: Support Level: Self-Managed Service. Since your support level is self-managed it does not come with third party software troubleshooting.
Your support does however cover , reboot requests, RDNS requests, Hardware Troubleshooting, VPS Container troubleshooting to name a few.
We do have a per incident package for troubleshooting at the rate of $75 per ticket. Would you like to open a Premium Troubleshooting ticket for this issue ?

Such a simple problem, a novice like VPS, could easily solve it on his own test server. He tried to avoid it and asked me to give me $75 in premium support. What a tragedy!
3. No response to support tickets. There was an overall failure a few days ago. The official website of the hosting provider could not be opened. I submitted a support ticket, including the previously submitted problem of the memory not being uploaded. For more than a week, no one responded, and it was closed directly.
In the end, I reluctantly canceled the renewal, and the reason was only one sentence translated by Google: This VPS can only be viewed, not used, and I don’t need to keep it for the time being to continue to enjoy it. Thanks.
