Based on some users’ pursuit of high quality and my current personal opinions, I decided to share information about Linode once a month. Linode is a foreign VPS service provider that everyone is familiar with. It responds quickly to technical work orders, has a self-developed panel, complete functions, and of course, more importantly, is a stable product, which has won an excellent reputation among users. After multiple upgrades, Linode is also more cost-effective. For example, the current minimum configuration is a 2GB memory package, uses pure SSD disks, and provides larger monthly traffic.

All node configurations and prices provided by Linode are the same. Let’s take the lowest package as an example to take a look at its configuration information.

CPU: 2 cores

Memory: 2 GB

SWAP: Custom

Hard drive: 48GB (SSD)

Monthly traffic: 3TB/250Mbps

Virtual architecture: XEN

IP/Panel: 1/Linode Manager

Test IP: 106.187.96.148(Japan)   50.116.14.9(Fremont)   50.116.57.237(New Jersey)

50.116.39.117(Atlanta)   50.116.25.154(Dallas)   176.58.107.39(London, UK)

The new Linode has added time-based billing rules. For example, the above one pays $20 per month, or $0.03/hour. Unfortunately, Linode has not yet added support for PayPal, and users need to pay by credit card. However, precisely because of the high starting point of payment method threshold and configuration, some relatively stable customer groups have been screened out. Linode options include multiple data centers in Japan and the United States. Domestic users generally choose Tokyo, Japan or Fremont in the United States for access.

In fact, there aren't many things to write about recently. I'm even planning to write a series to introduce Linode's backend management panel when I have free time. It depends on the situation.

Let me make another digression, which has nothing to do with this article. It is mainly based on the feedback I received from some readers recently. I would like to explain my personal opinion here. The stability of any host company that sells overseas VPS does not include access to China. The guarantee of the line means that no matter how awesome the company is, he has to take those exits. No IDC can avoid the problem of line draft. It is especially difficult for novices to understand what I am saying, but this is a fact. The line is not controlled by any IDC organization! My personal suggestion is to choose domestic cloud products, BGP multi-line ones, and record them honestly.
