News from LowEndTalk, BuyVM announced several exciting news, including the 128MB memory OpenVZ product that will be released in July for $15 per year.
The first news this time is the upgrade of server hardware.
We've decided we'll be doing our build at the start of July, instead of in the late fall like we had planned. To top this off, we're upgrading everyone that is currently on an L5420 (just do cat /proc /cpuinfo to find out) to the following gear:
- Dual Quad L5520
- 24GB – 48GB DDR3
- 8 x 1.5TB 7200RPM Hitachi drives
- Adaptec 6805 RAID card in RAID10 mode
Then, more than 1,000 units of the 128MB $15/year product will soon be available. It is expected to be released in batches in early July. This $15 annual payment has attracted much attention, so be prepared to spend your money.
The current plan will bring us around1,000 new 128MB plans alone, as well as at least 1500 – 2000 of our other plans.
In addition, the upcoming KVM cloud virtualization technology VPS and Windows OS VPS were also revealed this time.
Finally BuyVM is about to replace the computer room, and even specifically mentioned that the speed for Chinese users will be improved.
No, prices will not be going up to support this, we don’t need to do that. Current measurements are putting us 20ms+ less to China than the rest as well as much better routes in the USA due to the Level3.
With so much news, the one that everyone is most interested in is probably the news that 1,000 units of the $15/year OpenVZ will be available soon. I think there are so many new products that it’s okay not to rush them.
