In the previous section, we mainly got to know the KLOXO panel and basically set up the panel to make it easier to use. Next, we started to build a website. Today we will talk about how to add a domain name and build a website.
Regarding KLOXO adding domain name to build a website, I am going to divide it into two parts. The first part is the method of direct IP address access; the other part is adding the administrator account Domain name, website;
[Preparation] Before building the website, for the convenience of subsequent description, let’s talk about FTP first. Many friends are accustomed to using FTP tools. Without FTP upload, they feel unable to start. In fact, after the VPS account is established, FTP already exists. However, we need to connect through SFTP and port 22. Take FlashFXP as an example:
[IP address access]Let’s look at the administrator account first. What is an administrator account? This is the account our admin logs in to, the account with KLOXO supreme rights. As we all know, the VPS we purchased has at least 1 independent IP address. If we want to access the site we established using this IP address, for example: http://74.63.212.237/ to access the site I established in this format, we can ? The answer is yes. After installing KLOXO, you will find that when accessed by IP address, it is a default page of KLOXO. Just delete this default page and change it. Just upload our own web page files.
The path of the default page we mentioned above is located under /home/kloxo/httpd/default/. Use the FTP tool I mentioned earlier to find this folder, put the web page file into it, and then access it to have a look. It should be fine!
**Tips**If you follow the above steps, but the page you visit does not change, please restart lighttpd (or httpd) in the service, and it will usually be fine. If you can't find the service I mentioned for the time being, you can also restart the VPS...
**Other questions** Some friends will ask, the website program I made has many files, can I upload a compressed package? But I can't find this directory in the file manager. How can I decompress it? The answer is yes. You can use the SFTP tool I mentioned earlier to transfer the compressed package in ZIP format to the directory, and then PUTTY to decompress it. The specific command format is:
#cd /home/kloxo/httpd/default
#unzip our compressed package file name
**Postscript**Of course, accessing by IP address is a very depressing thing. Remembering a domain name is much more convenient than remembering a string of numbers, so we mainly talk about how to add it. domain name.
[Add domain name]
Click "Default Directory" at the top of the KLOXO interface to come to the main interface. Click add domain name in the resource section:
(*** Adding a domain name will force you to add a DNS template. In fact, we don’t need parsing. I usually If you add it at will, just write it randomly! For example, the template name: freeDNS, and the following NS server, I will write: free01.vpsok.net, etc.)
Go to the domain name add menu and fill in the domain name (not required). www), specify the domain name directory, you can fill in the directory name at will, remember it yourself~
After completion, click Add in the lower right corner to add this domain name. If you continue to move down the page, you will see the successfully added domain name.
*** Tip , before adding a domain name or after adding a domain name, please confirm that your domain name has been resolved to the space normally, and please use the A record to point to the IP address of the VPS! ***
【File Management】
OK, return to the default directory and find the file manager under the domain name section. click to enter. We can see the domain name directory we just created. Click the folder directly to upload the file to the directory.
This is a direct upload from the panel, which supports the transmission of compressed packages in ZIP or tar.gz format and decompresses them in the background. Decompression method: Click the decompression button on the left side of the uploaded compressed package file!
[FTP]
In fact, after adding the domain name, our FTP has been established. Everyone returns to the default directory and clicks on the FTP user in the domain name section. You can see the FTP users of the domain name we added. Click directly on the user who needs to edit, you can set the FTP password, and then use the FTP tool to add a user site. The IP address is the IP address of the VPS.
***Note*** What I need to remind everyone here is that the FTP username is the domain name we added!
【Postscript】Okay, that’s it for the tutorial on how to add FTP to make a website. In fact, I am a novice when it comes to playing VPS with Good VPS, and the tutorial written is only my personal operation method. I firmly believe that this is not the only one, nor is it the most convenient, so friends are welcome to correct me!
