Today I saw someone asking myself, can a computer be used as a website server so that the Internet can access it through a domain name? The answer is yes, good VPS has been done before, but I have a 2M ADSL+ route, and the access speed is really not very ideal. If you just want to try something new and experience it, or if your home optical fiber has enough bandwidth, you might as well follow my instructions Play with the steps mentioned.
Note: The following work takes my ADSL+ routing (TP-link R410+) environment as an example, and the installation and configuration of windows2003sever are not included in the discussion of this article (after the configuration is completed, the local IE can be accessed by inputting localhost ), of course, you can also use some very simple environment building tools. In addition, please turn off the local anti-virus software firewall.
1. Register as Peanut Shell user and apply for a free second-level domain name (such as ****.vicp.cc). This process is very simple. Go to Peanut Shell Just register on the website;
2. Dynamic DNS settings for the router. First, we go to the dynamic DNS option of the router, select Peanut Shell, enter the Peanut Shell passport and password we just registered, select "Enable DDNS", connect, and see that the connection is successful, OK;
Third, router forwarding rule settings . Why do we need to set forwarding rules? The reason is very simple. When computer A on the network sends a request to access a network address B, DDNS will help A find B. But B here is another machine behind the router, and its IP address is the LAN IP. , then the forwarding rule of this virtual server is to transfer access to the network address to machine B so that A can access B.
Okay, let’s set the forwarding rules. First, fill in 80 in the port, and fill in our IP address in the address: for example, my 192.168.1.8. In addition, if we need to use FTP, we also need to add 20 and 20 in this address. 21 is also added to the rules.
At this time, when you visit our Peanut Shell second-level domain name anywhere, you can already see the WEB page we made. As for binding the top-level domain name, it is relatively simple. Log in to our domain name management panel and find the CNAME ( Alias), the prefix is WWW, the alias points to our peanut shell second-level domain name, the creation is complete. (Note: Domain name resolution does not take effect immediately. It takes effect within 30 minutes to 24 hours depending on the registrar)
The above are the steps I personally use. If you have any questions, you are welcome to correct me. You are also welcome to share with me if you encounter any problems. For discussion, you can go to the About* message page to communicate with me through my contact information, thank you!
