While the one-month free KVM has not expired, continue to log in to Windows 2008. This time we will modify the Windows 2008 remote desktop port together, which is also part of the basic security configuration of Windows. Regarding changing the remote desktop port, the easiest way is to use a tool. It is recommended that you use the Guardian God 3389 port change tool, which can be downloaded from the Guardian God website software page.
The tool is an exe file. Click to execute. This is really simple and there is nothing to say. Tool download address: 3389 port change
In addition to using the tool, there is a slightly more troublesome way. Just modify it directly by modifying the registry. The steps are as follows:
Start, run, regedit, and open the registry editor.
For example, we changed the default port 3389 to 3398, making 2 changes in total.
Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlTerminal ServerWds
dpwdTds cp, edit PortNumber on the right, display in decimal, change to 3398
tcp01
Then, find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetControlTerminal ServerWinStationsRDP-Tcp, edit PortNumber on the right, display in decimal Control display, change to 3398, I captured this picture without switching the decimal system. You can compare it and choose decimal system to modify it.
tcp02
After these two modifications are completed, the port modification is completed. However, Windows 2008 still cannot use the new port to log in. This is because the new port of the firewall has not been opened yet.
Start, Administrative Tools, Server Manager, Configuration, Windows Firewall with Advanced Security, Inbound Rules.
Create new rules, customize (I will not take screenshots of the steps one by one, text descriptions are the main ones), all programs, pay attention to select the protocol type and specific port, as shown below:
tcp03
and then the next step Basically, there is no need to change it (any IP address, allow connection), just write a name at the end.
After completion, you can try whether the modified port can be used for normal remote connection.
